POSITIVE SPIRITUAL GATES
The positive spiritual gates make up the nature of our spirit. It is the highest form of life referred to in the scriptures as “Zoe.”
These gateways need to be opened to the Holy Spirit for the presence of God to come through.
Here are the spirit gateways:
Revelation, Intuition, Prayer, Faith, Hope, Worship and Fear of God.
The Gateway of Worship
What does God want out of His creation?
Psalm 19:1
SONG -Made for worship
What did Jesus say about how we will worship God?
JOHN 4: 23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.
SONG – Worship in the Spirit
What gates gets us into the courts of God?
Ps 100:4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving,
And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
How often should we praise and give thanks?
Psalm 113:3 From the rising of the sun to its going down
The Lord’s name is to be praised.
ACTIVATE THE GATE OF PRAISE AND WORSHIP
Release the portals of your spirit as you call on the spirit of worship to engulf you –
I chose to open the portals of my spirit to give heartfelt praise to God Most High
Father, I open the gateway of worship so that Your power and glory can come through.
I release the power of God through this gateway of worship.
Let my whole being become a vessel of worship to the Lord most high.
Let all that is within me worship God. My whole being praises You, O God
May worship never cease from my mouth.
I will bless the Lord at all times, in season and out of season.
GATEWAY OF PRAYER
What is a Prayer gateway?
The gateway of prayer is one of our spiritual gateways. Prayer is communication with God.
You can pray in your understanding, or you can pray in tongues.
Why pray in tongues? It gives direct access to God and bypasses the mind. In addition, you get the help of the Holy Spirit when you are at a loss for words.
Why does it appear that some people exercise more authority in prayer than others?
James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures.
How can you exercise more authority?
Matthew 18:18 “Assuredly, I say to you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.
Luke 10: 19 Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
You are the one sitting at the gate; always exercise your authority.
Activate the prayer gate
- Pray that the portals of your spirit will open to the flow of God’s glory
- Pray for the strengthening of your prayer gateway through a deeper intimacy with God
- Ask for a powerful prayer portal to be opened to you and pray for a prophetic prayer unction
- Pray that your will and desires will always align with God’s will
- Pray for your seat of authority like Deborah who sat and judged Israel with a prophetic unction – so shall you seat in the heavenly realms in Christ to judge matters on the earth
- Pray that through your prayer gateway you will enforce the will of God in your life that of your family and the environment
- Pray that as a watcher your prayer portal will be open day and night with angels ascending and descending to the bidding of God’s Word in your mouth
- Pray that God will show you exactly what you need to do to increase your effectiveness in prayer and to truly be an elder at the gate

The Gateway of Intuition
Intuition – you have heard it mentioned, and you have probably said it many times “I had an intuition that this was going to happen”. Another way we express it is when we say “I just have a feeling about something”. With intuition, you cannot say that your decision-making is based on knowledge, many times it does not make sense, but you have this gut feeling, and you feel the need to follow through on that gut feeling.
What is this gut feeling?
Romans 8:14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
14 For all who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God.
Other words that could mean intuition – discern, perceive – do a word search using Biblegateways.com. (Phil 1:9, Acts 16:1-3, 16)
What is the purpose of intuition in the life of a believer?
1 Cor 2:11 For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of the man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.
Acts 16:Then he came to Derbe and Lystra. And behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a certain Jewish woman who believed, but his father was Greek. 2 He was well spoken of by the brethren who were at Lystra and Iconium. 3 Paul wanted to have him go on with him. And he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in that region, for they all knew that his father was Greek.
Intuition will draw us closer to certain people, events, situations, and decisions. Conversely, intuition will steer you away from certain people, events, decisions and situations. Intuition guides us away from disaster. How many times have you been prompted to do certain things and did not heed the warning only to regret it later? There is a need to develop this muscle called intuition, which is done by engaging the Holy Spirit constantly.
Intimacy and recognising God’s presence will help us trust that intuition in us. For the next 10 minutes we will allow the Holy Spirit to soak us with His presence.
Prayer – 5 mins
Activate the gateway of intuition.
Holy Spirit, I open the gateway of intuition in my spirit.
I open it and yield it to the flow of Your Spirit and Your glory.
I receive intuition and the discernment to know who to draw close to and who to steer clear of
I receive intuition to know when to move and in what direction.
I receive intuition to know when to be still.
I receive the power of intuition to discern right
Let the power of intuition be strongly activated in me so that I might be delivered from making life errors.
I need this power of intuition so that I might discern Your mind correctly on any matter and be in alignment
(be specific about the areas for which you need intuition)
The Gateway of Faith
Hebrews 1:2 looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Prayer Session – 5 MINS
As you take these prayers, have an open posture to receive the spirit of faith.
Father, I own the gateway of faith in my spirit, and I invite You to release in me great faith.
Let there be a release of faith for the miraculous
Let there be a release of the faith that moves mountains
Let faith well up inside of me – mention the things that you need faith for and ask for an increase in faith
Thank You for the measure of faith I have walked in, I ask for a dimensional increase
I ask for the faith of Jesus doubting nothing (Acts 10:20)
Let the gateway of faith be open
Let the gateway of great faith be open
James 2:20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar?
One thing I have learnt about faith is that it is latent until you put it to practice. You need to take some actions according to the faith you have professed.
Therefore, you will take steps around your prayer room, symbolic of taking action according to the great faith you have received.
For every step you take, make a declaration.
eg. Today I take a step towards writing my book by writing the introduction
Today I step towards my academics by registering for the program.’
Today I take a step of faith towards …. by ….
For every declaration, take a new step
Speak to yourself and declare you will do what needs to be done by faith
Declare you are not looking at the evidence before you but the promise of God that cannot fail
Declare you have faith for the supernatural
(knowing that you have activated this gateway, take a bold step on something by acting on it and please share your testimony)
The Gateway of Revelation
John 17: 3 And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.
Jesus says that to know God is eternal life.
Apostle Paul wanted to know God read Philippians 3:7-11
This is knowledge beyond thoughts and feelings. This is having an intimate knowledge of God. To know God this way, you need the spirit of revelation. Read Ephesians 1:15-21
Let us unpack Ephesians 1:17-21
What was Paul’s prayer for the saints in v 17? That they may know the following three things:
- The Knowledge of Him v17
- Know the hope of His calling, Know the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints v18
- The exceeding greatness of His power towards us who believe v 19
We want God to reveal Himself in a fresh way to us, and for this to happen, we need the spirit of wisdom and revelation.
Activate the Gateway of Revelation
For the next 10 minutes, pray Ephesians 1:17. Pray that God will give you the results of Ephesians 1:17
- The Knowledge of Him v17
- Know the hope of His calling, Know the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints v18
- The exceeding greatness of His power towards us who believe v 19

NEGATIVE SPIRITUAL GATES
Next week we will address the negative spiritual gates.
These are:
The Devil: The Bible describes Satan as the primary adversary of God and His people (1 Peter 5:8). He is the tempter who seeks to lead people away from God and into sin. He uses various tactics, including deceit, temptation, and accusations. We are called to “resist the devil” (James 4:7) through the power and authority in the name of Jesus and by standing firm in our faith. .
The World: The world system has a major influence in our lives. The world has a system of values, attitudes, and behaviors that are contrary to God’s ways and these dominate human society (1 John 2:15-17). It can be tempting to conform to worldly standards, but we are admonished to live in the world without being of the world (Romans 12:2), demonstrating God’s love and righteousness in our lives.
The Flesh: The Apostle Paul described this battle in Romans 7:15, stating, “For what I want to do, I do not do, but what I hate, I do.” Our sinful nature often leads us astray, causing us to stumble and fall into temptation. Recognizing our weaknesses and relying on the power of the Holy Spirit is essential in overcoming these internal enemies.
This sinful nature is in opposition to the Spirit of God (Galatians 5:16-17). It’s the part of us that is drawn to sinful desires and behaviors. We must crucify the flesh with its passions and desires (Galatians 5:24) and live according to the Spirit.
False Prophets/Teachers: The Bible warns of false prophets and teachers who will try to lead believers astray with false doctrines and teachings (2 Peter 2:1). This is a critical gateway that must be protected. Jesus warns us to be careful about what or who we are listening to. (Mark 4:24). These can be individuals, ideologies, or institutions that distort the truth of God’s word. Christians need discernment to identify and reject false teachings.
Spiritual Wickedness in High Places: This refers to spiritual entities or forces of evil in the spiritual realm that influence the physical world (Ephesians 6:12). They can manifest in various ways, including oppressive systems, structures of power, and ideologies that are contrary to God’s kingdom. We must put on the whole armour of God to stand against such forces (Ephesians 6:11).
I am blessed to serve you
