LET US PRAY
Theme 4: Open Doors Into Enlarged Territories.
-
Scripture References:
-
Psalm 44:3 – They did not gain possession by their own sword, but by God’s favour.
-
1 Chronicles 4:10 – Jabez’s prayer for blessing and enlarged territory.
-
Exodus 3:8 – God promises to bring His people into a good and spacious land.
-
Acts 1:8 – “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you.”
-
Acts 4:33 – The apostles gave testimony with great power.
As we continue to explore the theme of Open Doors, it’s important to recognize that God’s favour and empowerment by the Holy Spirit are key catalysts in unlocking these doors and stepping into new realms of blessing. Scripture shows that divine favour is not just a passive blessing but an active force that propels God’s people into territories and opportunities they could not achieve on their own.
In Psalm 44:3, we are reminded that the Israelites did not conquer the land by their own strength. It is God’s favour that grants us access to promises and territories beyond our natural ability.
Similarly, Jabez understood that enlarging his territory wasn’t just about physical land but about increasing his influence and capacity to fulfill God’s purposes.
God’s promise in Exodus 3:8 to bring His people “into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey” highlights His desire to lead us into abundant places. However, entering these new territories often requires confronting and displacing existing obstacles or forces. Therefore we need to be empowered.
The key points we must consider are:
-
Divine Favour Opens Doors: God’s favour elevates us to positions and opportunities we cannot reach by ourselves.
-
Empowerment Leads to Enlargement: To expand our territory, God increases the power within us through His Spirit.
-
Displacing Obstacles Requires Power: Possessing new territories involves overcoming challenges, which we can only do through God’s empowerment.
-
Advancing into New Levels: Favour and empowerment are not just blessings but necessities for stepping into the fullness of what God has prepared for us.
Let’s position ourselves to receive increased favour and seek the empowerment of the Holy Spirit. By doing so, we align ourselves with God’s plan to open doors that lead to expanded influence, greater opportunities, and the fulfillment of His promises in our lives. Let us be encouraged that God is not only opening doors but also equipping us with everything we need to walk through them victoriously.
Prayer Points for “Open Doors into Enlarged Territories”
Seeking Divine Favor
Father, I thank You for the favour that You grant to Your children. Just as the Israelites gained possession of the land by Your favor and not by their own strength (Psalm 44:3), I ask for Your divine favour to open doors into territories I could not enter on my own. In Jesus’ name.
Lord, may Your favour elevate me to new opportunities, positions, and realms of influence that go beyond my natural capacity. Let Your hand guide me into places You have prepared for me. In Jesus’ name.
Prayer for Empowerment by the Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit, empower me to step confidently into new territories. As You filled the apostles with great power (Acts 4:33), fill me with boldness and strength to advance into new levels of influence and blessing. In Jesus’ name.
Father, let Your Spirit increase my capacity and ability, equipping me with all I need to overcome challenges and embrace the enlargement You have planned. In the name of Jesus.
Prayer for Enlarged Territory and Influence
Lord, like Jabez, I ask that You bless me indeed and enlarge my territory (1 Chronicles 4:10). Expand my influence, increase my impact, and use me as a vessel to fulfill Your purposes.
Father, open doors that lead me into good and spacious places, just as You promised to bring Your people into a land flowing with milk and honey (Exodus 3:8).
Displacing Obstacles and Confronting Challenges
Father, as I step into new territories, give me the strength and courage to confront any obstacles or opposition that stands in the way. Help me to displace hindrances by Your power and to walk with the confidence that You are with me.
Holy Spirit, empower me to resist any forces that may try to hinder or limit my advancement. Let no obstacle prevent me from entering the fullness of what You have prepared.
Advancing Boldly Into New Levels
Lord, let Your favour and empowerment carry me forward into the new levels You have set for me. May I not shrink back, but instead, boldly walk through every door You open.
God, help me to advance with assurance, knowing that Your hand is upon me. May I walk victoriously into enlarged territories, fully equipped and fully empowered by Your Spirit.
Alignment with God’s Plan
Father, help me to remain aligned with Your will and Your plan. May I seek not just personal gain but to fulfill Your purposes in every new territory You grant me. In the name of Jesus.
Lord, let my heart and motives be pure as I step into expanded influence and opportunities. May everything I do bring glory to Your name. In the name of Jesus.
Thanksgiving for Open Doors and Divine Provision
Thank You, Father, for the doors You are opening and the territories You are enlarging. I am grateful for Your provision, guidance, and the promises that are coming to pass in my life.
Thank You for equipping me with everything I need to walk victoriously through these doors. I praise You for Your favour, empowerment, and faithfulness. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen.
Theme 5: Overcoming Obstacles and Deliverance from the Pit
-
Scripture References:
-
Genesis 37:19–21, 28 – Joseph is thrown into a pit by his brothers.
-
Zechariah 9:11 – Prisoners released from the waterless pit.
-
1 Corinthians 7:23 – “You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of men.”
-
2 Kings 4:7 – The widow is freed from her debts.
-
Exodus 12:13 – The blood as a sign for protection.
As we journey toward the open doors that God has set before us, we will encounter obstacles that seem insurmountable, situations that make us feel trapped or held back. God’s power is available for us to overcome all obstacles and be delivered from any pit.
Joseph was thrown into a pit by his own brothers, Joseph found himself in a place of abandonment and betrayal. The pit is like being below ground zero—a state where accessing God’s open doors feels impossible. Yet, Joseph’s journey didn’t end there; it was a pivotal point leading to his eventual rise to prominence in Egypt. No matter how bad the situation be reminded that God is orchestrating a greater plan for our lives.
Similarly, in Zechariah 9:11 we are reminded that God is committed to delivering us from the empty, desolate places we may find ourselves in. The “waterless pit” represents situations devoid of life and hope, yet God’s covenant promises liberation and renewal.
Obstacles can arise for various reasons. Sometimes, they stem from the enemy’s fear of our God-given dreams and potential. Just as Joseph’s brothers acted out of jealousy and fear of his dreams, the enemy seeks to hinder us when he perceives the greatness God has placed within us. We must be vigilant not to let fear, doubt, or external pressures enslave us or divert us from God’s path. 1 Corinthians 7:23.
At other times, obstacles result from our own actions—running ahead of God or making choices without seeking His guidance. The widow in 2 Kings 4:7 faced insurmountable debt incurred by her late husband, but the door of deliverance opened to her through obedience to God’s instruction via the prophet Elisha.
No matter the scheme of the enemy God has made a way of escape. The protection offered by God is powerfully symbolized in Exodus 12:13, where the blood of the Passover lamb served as a sign for the Israelites: “The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you.” This foreshadows the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, whose blood delivers us from sin and its consequences.
Breaking free from any form of bondage requires us to:
-
Acknowledge Our Situation: Recognize when we are in a “pit” and identify the obstacles hindering our progress.
-
Depend on God’s Deliverance: Trust in God’s power and promises to lift us out of despair.
-
Resist the Enemy’s Schemes: Stay alert to temptations that offer quick fixes but lead us away from God’s plan.
-
Embrace Our Redemption: Remember that we have been bought at a price and are empowered to live in freedom.
Overcoming obstacles and being delivered from the pit are integral to accessing the open doors God has prepared for us. No matter how deep the pit or how formidable the obstacle, God’s grace is sufficient. He specializes in turning situations around, transforming trials into testimonies. As we place our trust in Him and align ourselves with His will, we position ourselves to walk through the doors He opens, stepping into the fullness of His plans for our lives.
Prayer Points for Overcoming Obstacles and Deliverance from the Pit:
Acknowledging Our Situation
Father, open my eyes to recognize any “pit” I may be in. Reveal to me the obstacles hindering my progress and any areas where I may feel trapped or held back.
Lord, I surrender my situation to You, acknowledging that I cannot overcome these obstacles alone. Give me clarity to see the way forward as You lift me from any pit of despair or discouragement. In the name of Jesus.
Dependence on God’s Deliverance
Father, I declare my dependence on You as my Deliverer. Just as You lifted Joseph from the pit, lift me from any place of abandonment or despair and bring me into Your open doors.
God, remind me that Your power is greater than any obstacle before me. I trust in Your promises and rely on Your strength to lead me to victory. Amen
Resisting the Enemy’s Schemes
Father, give me discernment to recognize the schemes of the enemy and avoid any temptation that would lead me away from Your path. Strengthen me to resist quick fixes and trust in Your timing.
I reject every fear, doubt, and distraction sent to derail me from my purpose. By the power of Your Spirit, I stand firm, knowing that my victory is assured in You.
Embracing Our Redemption
Father, thank You for redeeming me at a great price. I declare according to Your Word that I am
free from bondage through the sacrifice of Jesus. I embrace the freedom and authority You have given me to overcome every obstacle.
Lord, help me to walk boldly in the identity You have given me, no longer hindered by the weight of my past. I am redeemed, and the Blood of Jesus is my covering and protection.
Trusting in God’s Greater Plan
Father, like Joseph, I trust that You are working a greater plan for my life, even in the face of challenges. Align my heart with Your purpose, and help me to see beyond the present obstacles to the future glory.
Father, turn every trial into a testimony of Your faithfulness. Transform every obstacle into an opportunity for growth and every pit into a place of breakthrough. In the name of Jesus.
Breaking Free from Bondage
In the name of Jesus, I declare I am released from any form of bondage—whether it’s fear, doubt, or the enemy’s lies. I declare that I am no longer held back by these chains but am moving forward in the freedom that Christ obtained for me.
I cover myself and my family with the blood of Jesus. Just as the blood protected the Israelites, may Your protection guard us from harm and lead us to Your open doors. In the name of Jesus.
Walking Through Open Doors with Boldness
Father, as You open doors before me, fill me with the courage to walk through them with confidence, for I know that You are with me. May I step into every opportunity You have set before me without hesitation.
Father, help me to remain aligned with Your will, that I may fully embrace the blessings and purpose You have designed for my life. I declare that no obstacle will keep me from reaching the destiny You have planned. In the name of Jesus.
Theme 6: Restoration and Acceleration
Scripture References:
-
1 Samuel 16:1 – God instructs Samuel to anoint a new king.
-
Psalm 118:6 – “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear.”
-
Psalm 74:20 – Acknowledge the dark places of the earth filled with cruelty.
-
Proverbs 20:27 – The spirit of man as the lamp of the Lord.
As we conclude the theme of Open Doors, we are reminded of a profound aspect of God’s work in our lives: Restoration and Acceleration. This theme emphasizes that not only does God open doors for us, but He also restores us to His original plan and accelerates our progress toward His purposes. In times when we may feel we’ve lost ground or missed opportunities, God is capable of redeeming the time and propelling us forward with renewed vigor.
In 1 Samuel 16:1, the Lord speaks to Samuel, saying, “How long will you mourn for Saul, since I have rejected him as king over Israel? Fill your horn with oil and be on your way; I am sending you to Jesse of Bethlehem. I have chosen one of his sons to be king.” This passage signifies a pivotal moment of restoration. Despite Saul’s failure, God initiates a new beginning by anointing David. It highlights that God’s plans are not thwarted by human shortcomings; instead, He restores and redirects us toward His intended purpose.
Psalm 118:6 reassures us that with God’s presence, we can move forward without fear or hesitation. His presence empowers us to step boldly through the doors He opens, knowing that no obstacle can stand against His will.
However, we must acknowledge the challenges that exist in the world because “haunts of violence fill the dark places of the land” Psalm 74:20.” Recognizing the realities of the world’s cruelty doesn’t deter us; instead, it reinforces our reliance on God’s protection and justice as we navigate through life’s complexities.
The role of the Holy Spirit is crucial in this journey. Our spirits are attuned to God’s guidance, illuminating the path ahead and revealing areas where we need restoration and growth.
Key points to consider in this theme are:
-
Restoration to God’s Original Plan: Restoration is about returning to the divine blueprint God has for each of our lives. No matter where we are or what we’ve experienced, God is able to restore us fully, setting us back on the path He designed.
-
Acceleration and the “Oil of Speed”: In seasons where we feel we’ve fallen behind, God provides acceleration to regain lost time and opportunities. This is symbolized by the “oil of speed,” representing the anointing that propels us forward beyond natural limitations.
-
Anointing for Boldness and Confidence: Just as David was anointed by Samuel, we too are anointed by God to fulfill our unique callings. This anointing equips us with the boldness and confidence needed to overcome obstacles and seize new opportunities.
-
Generational Blessings and Spiritual Transactions: Understanding that patriarchs and matriarchs can make spiritual transactions on our behalf highlights the importance of generational blessings. It emphasizes that we are part of a continuum of faith, and the prayers and actions of those before us have paved the way for our advancement. In the same manner, our prayers pave the way for future generations.
In embracing this theme, let us open our hearts to God’s restorative power and His ability to accelerate our progress. With the assurance that “The Lord is on my side; I will not fear,” we can confidently step into the open doors before us. Recognizing the anointing upon our lives, we are empowered to move forward, knowing that God is orchestrating every step. As we honour the generational blessings and remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s leading, we position ourselves to experience the fullness of God’s restoration and acceleration in our lives.
